Description
At the meeting we will have (short) talks about recent results as well as a discussion about the future of our network in the next decade. For that we have been asked by the NOVA board to define brief road maps for ~3 themes.
Programme outline
10:00 coffee/tea
10:30-10:45 David Berge "Supernova remnant observations and implications with H.E.S.S."
12:15:13:15 lunch
14:15-14:30 Overview future facilities
15:30-16:00 coffee/tea
Proposed themes:
Strategic Plan Astronomy 2011-2020
Strategic Plan Astroparticle Physics 2014-2024
NOVA Vision 2025

Proposed themes:
- Accretion, ejection and particle acceleration on all scales [interacting binaries, jets, AGN, supernova remnants, cosmic rays] -
- Extreme physics with compact objects and in their mergers [probing gravity, dense matter, tides, r-process and explosive nucleosynthesis with BHs/NS/WD, pulsar (timing), gravitational waves, NS/BH mergers and type Ia supernovae] -
- Formation and evolution of BHs, NSs and WDs in diverse environments [stellar evolution, supernovae, formation and evolution of (interacting) WD/NS/pulsar/BH binaries, both in the field and in dense environments]
